Simon describes building great software very rewarding. “Believe it or not, it can be very creative and extremely satisfying dreaming up solutions to companies’ problems.”
With an interest in wine, Simon has lived a dual life since completing a B.Com at Auckland University followed by a post graduate diploma in Viticulture and Oenology from Lincoln University. He spent 10 years working as a winemaker for both his own company and others including Dry River Wines, Martinborough and Delegat Limited, Auckland. It was over this time as a winemaker that Simon saw an opportunity to improve production management systems and began building Vinsight Software. Since 2005 he has focused more on the Software Company although still contracts to both the BioTech and brewing industries and keeps his toe in the wine scene by attending regular tastings and events.
